Language, Number and Play

Language and Play is a six week programme that aims to make parents and carers aware of the importance of language and play. Weekly sessions focus on a range of themes that include; the importance of talking with children, having conversations, establishing routines, using language out and about, sharing stories, enjoying rhymes, introducing pre-writing and establishing the child at the centre of the family unit.

Number and Play is a programme which complements Language and Play. Its focus is on developing ideas and information based on the language of numeracy, for example; tips on counting, number, shape and size. This language and number play will help to develop the understanding and confidence of parents who feel anxious about maths. Both programmes lay the foundations for life long learning for children and parents in a fun, non-threatening and enjoyable way.
